Does ‘no longer wanting a marriage‘ constitute a divorce? Question: Does it count as a talaq when husband says he no longer wants our marriage or me because he was upset with something that happened? Answer: In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh. It will constitute a divorce if there was an intention of divorce by uttering those words.
